what the hell is a "spice rack"??

why change the cabinets..theyre the same.. other than the lid for the stovetop being different. the sofabed seatback and bottom just unscrews .. simple job.

as for the upper poptop shelf, you have to pull the whole unit and even the supporting sheetmetal bracketry from both sides of the '85 if you want to install that on your 84.. i assume the only reason you want to do this is that you want the '85 curtains that slide in the tracks, right?
