What?! Every Westy setup I have seen or heard of has the regulator attached directly to the valve on the tank via a spud nut. See: http://www.gowesty.com/images/ec/products/large/large_4f5fb2b698b40dab320a2df497ded854.jpg I do agree some sort of protection for the vent is necessary. Jerry
