When the mechanic pulled the heads and re-installed them he might have cut a corner by not separating the rubber gaskets first and re-sealing them. The rubber gaskets are very durable. If they are reused they need to be separated from the heads then use proper sealant to re-seal, even if the gaskets appear to be adhered firmly on the heads. The only sure way to seat the gaskets properly on the case is to separate the gaskets from the heads and be put on the case by themselves. If a set of new gaskets is used there would be no corner to cut. But if they are reused I think every mechanic would try to cut the corner. Only if one realized the potential problem would then do it the right way. Experienced wasserboxer mechanic probably won't even think about cutting the corner. David
