Can you at least remove and re-install the trans yourself? If so, that is a
major battle. After that, consider the cost of a rebuilt tranny and clutch
and if you can get a running car for that. Probably not so bite the bullet
and figure out a way to pay for it. A used tranny is only a viable option if
you are providing the labor and can take some risk.
