That page mostly exists because the Bentley reprints you can get for aircoolers don't have color wiring diagrams. For a Vanagon, the "correct" answer is to purchase a helpful and informative Bentley manual from one of the fine list vendors. :) Also, compare the '90 Vanagon wiring diagram to the '50-'53 Bus wiring diagram at http://www.vintagebus.com/wiring/bus-53-color.jpg for proof that ethelyne glycol fumes do bad things to car designers' brains.
