So I suppose then that you could imagine my surprise when I opened his post and read what I thought I was reading.

It's interesting, but not unusual I guess, that some folks would find his intended meaning (murder from ambush) less bothersome than the meaning I initially inferred from his post.

At any rate, I evidently failed to process Frank's post, to which Mike was responding, so I wound up thinking 'Vanagon traps' was some kind of oblique joke about Chris using Vanagons as traps/bait for people- which then made some (odd) sense with what else he seemed to be saying given my understanding of the term (I didn't know it had the other meaning at the time- I looked it up). He (Mike) was apparently talking about the Vanagons themselves being the target of the action in question, which makes the whole thing just that much more surreal, whichever way you choose to look at it.

Finally, I had intended that to be a pmail response to Mike but I obviously mis-addressed it to the list, out of habit I suppose.

There's probably some lesson in communication and perspective to be had here but right now I'm too damn tired to think about it anymore.

Cya, Robert
