Hi everybody, finally I found some time to work again on the engine. After getting great advices from Boston Bob while discussing my issue on the phone, ruling out some concerns, taking into account other possibilities (What a great guy ! Very helpful !) .... I began with the obvious, measuring the oil pump gasket .. it was 13 Thou!!! I should have checked this before I installed it, but believed the gasket set. Well now I know it for the next time (which is hopefully far away) ... Tomorrow I take the new 4thou thick RED cover gasket in, do not prime the pump, assemble it dry, cannot use silicon (great advice Bob, but don't have it around, will therefore use the sealing nuts even though they are not as good, but better than nothing I suppose). Also I will sand the new cover to insure it is flat, same thing with the oil pump and put it in. Reassembling and check the pressure (cross you finger for me!!). Tabe, I hope it is OK that I still have your gauge and pyrometer, will bring it back, hopefully this week, when (note, not used if ;-)) the van runs.... Thank you very much, especially Boston Bob and Tabe. Cheers Thomas
