How do you install the chromed plastic trim into the windshield seal while the window is still installed? I removed the old strip, cleaned and lubed the seal with Gojo handcleaner. (I've used this trick to install VW glass seals for many years........). I've tried sliding it in (got it in about a foot), prying it in with various tools, pressing it in, but nothing has worked so far. I don't know if this has been addressed previously. Anyone know a good method for this situation? I had a thought of inserting thick cord, thin poly rope or vinyl-covered clothesline into the groove first then slowly pulling it up and out, while pressing the trim in. BTW, I am well aware that it's easier to do with the seal and glass out of the car, but that's not an option for me right now. Mike B. |
