Sleeping in the rest stop:
1. Pull in.
(1.a Check for large signs saying "no overnight parking ever under any
circmstances, no sleeping, no spending more than two hours here." Some rest
stops have signs that say "no camping, no staying here for more than ten
hours at a stretch unless it's an emergency which includes blizzards or you
are too tired to keep driving." That's an invitation to overnight, if you
ask me.)
2. Find a spot not too isolated but not right under the lights and next to
the trash cans.
3. Use the facilities.
4. Stretch out in your van and go to sleep. Lock the van doors. Don't pop
the top.
5. In the morning, use the facilities.
6. Hit the road, feeling well rested with your pockets as full as ever!
