I am not asking you to believe it.

If fact I will take your word for it when you have tried it and have something to base an opinion on, but if you want to pass along rumors and conjecture go ahead.

My concern is that its going to harm fuel lines.

This is the sort of thing that I would really not want to be the first one on my block to try out.
