Yes, I read the mythbuster report; not credible.

And my reason for not wanting to use this tip; sounds dangerous to me.

In the television show "MYTHBUSTERS" (Episode - Exploding Pants), this was tested. After doing a baseline run with just gasoline, they tested a 500:1 ratio of acetone (1 part acetone to 500 parts gasoline). The acetone/gasoline mixture lowered the mileage (it was only a couple percent, but it was lower). I can only imagine that upping the percentage of acetone would exacerbate that issue, let alone what "Bad Things" it might do to fuel lines, filters, and whatnot.

Based on the Mythbusters tests, and the fact that acetone is a solvent, I certainly wouldn't try it.
