Personally, I do not see a huge > benefit for automotive application. well the price diff is so small between good quality VW OEM rubber & silicone (actually cheaper than the old prices for these pipes :) & everything I have found says that the silicone coolant hoses out last rubber 2 to 1 so I'd say that there are no down side better quality less expensive so is that not a big benefit :)
