Don't equate larger wheels with larger tires.

If you go with a 205/60R15 tire, it will fit in the spare tire carrier in front without problems.

If you go with a 215/75R15 tire, you can fit it in the spare tire carrier, if you air it down (and hence you'll need to carry a small compressor with you.)

A 225/70R15 will also fit in the spare tire carrier, again, aired down.

You only need to go the rear tire carrier if you want to look cool, or use MUCH larger tires. But if you go with larger tires then you'll probably be needing to modify your wheel wells too else you'll likely have scraping problems when you go over rocks and such.

I'm saving up to go with bigger wheels and a big break kit when it struck me that if I were to flat one of the tires with the big break kit I'd be SOL since my spare 14" wheel under the front wouldn't fit over the brakes. I guess I could buy a fifth wheel/tire and hang it off the back (expensive), but has anyone else figured out a different (cheaper) solution like modifying the spare tire pan to fit the larger wheels?
