Hey there Todd,

The frame mounting bracketry that comes with these kits is junk.  A lame
little rubber bushing that's supposed to be held captive an a cupped mount.
Silly.

I got some "energy suspension" mounts from a local speed shop, 1" front,
7/8" rear.  They're poly bushings, and come in two configurations. One with
a grease nipple (helpful to get rid of inevitable squeeks), and one with a
graphite impregnated poly bushing (less prone to squeeking but still does).
I'm sure you can find these online from any distributor.

So, with this mount you have TWO bolts securing it to the frame vs. the
single bolt and tab method employed by VW engineers.

I think Robert Lilley had a great site about this.  In digging through the
archives and can't find it.

The only thing I did differently from his set-up was to invert the
attachment tab to the rear trailing arms so that the bar sits higher off the
ground.

I have a set of these but have not installed them.
I have never liked the way they mount in the front with a single bolt.
But I guess they work okay.

Has anyone come up with better mounts than what Addco supplies?
