On the SA grille kits sold in the US, one has to remove one of the German turn-fittings from the old grille and put it in the center of the SA grille. Then you're left with 4 push pins (2 per side) and one turn-fitting. The kit comes with no fastener in the center position.

So, to be more correct I should say, "After undoing the one 1/4 turn screw in the center, it now pulls off with just the right amount of resistance ... no prying at that point.
