Thank you,

I was not aware the SA Grill came as a kit and included the appropriate lights and relays, Sounds like what I need and want to help navigate my 'deer-filled' highways. Since I do live out of town, I have to rely on a dial up internet connection usually, so getting info from the List archives can be painfully slow if I don't 'hit' the proper search term.. Aftermarket auxiliary lights..have had em on my other vehicles and they always seem, somehow, to be out of whack or bumped off adjustment or broken by "audio-parallel parkers" or grocery cart reckless drivers, etc..That grill kit looks like it'd solve all the problems. Thanks for the input., Don Hanson ----- Original Message ----- From: Oxroad@aol.com To: dhanson@GORGE.NET Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Sent: Wednesday, June 06, 2007 10:47 PM Subject: Re: South African grills?

Yes and Yes. If you upgrade, get the entire SA Grill kit with the Hella driving lights and correct factory brackets which runs about $265-$299. Trying to mount your own lights can be done, but no reason to for the most part.

The mounting cups/pods attach to existing sheet metal with sheet metal screws. The toughest part is measuring and drilling the pilot holes for th bracket. And that is to say it's not tough at all. The mounting brackets have two adjusting screws just like the main headlights for aiming the lights. Nice set up.

It's too long ago since I got mine but I think the inner lights are Hella H3 bulbs that come with the kit. Someone else can chime in on the wattage.

Looks great. Improves lighting. Tastes great. Less filling.

Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA, CA
