After seeing the major rust and corrosion, i think there is a combination of
problems most likely..
Troubleshooting needs more specific info sometimes...Did the problem start
suddenly or gradually...Under what conditions had the van been used...Hot,
cold, sitting, long trip, etc...
The slave bracket is badly rusted and may have tweaked so that it's not
holding the slave in the correct position...Saying that by placing a washer
to re-position the bracket gave it more travel seems to prove that...Either
the slave and bracket are both bad, or air is getting in the system via the
master cylinder...
A new bracket and slave would be my first step...If you get any air out of
the slave after Re-bleeding it thououghly several time...one of the
hydraulic comonents is bad as well...
As Dennis Haynes said..is the socket on the slave cyl worn enough to
"shorten" it's throw...
Throwout fork bent or breaking???
