Hi Dennit

Thank you for yourinput.

I shall try to reply the best I can. At 02:46 10-06-2007, Dennis Haynes wrote: >While the transmission was out, did you check the following? > >End of tranny input shaft. End of tranny input shaft was smooth. A bit grimy/dirty, but I wiped it off, and it felt smooth. I greased the pilot-bearing with some grease on my pinky, as the pilot-bearing was quite dry. But pilotbearing felt very smooth too. Couldnt tell if the pins were rolling though. But felt OK.

Didnt check this.Couldnt see felt. Looked like I was looking direct at marked face of pilot-bearing.

No, unfortunately not, I didnt think enough of checking those. AURGH - had I only read the Haynes step by step when working my way throu the clutch-job. But it was one of those days where I wanted to believe that I had the "magic touch" to be able to repair my car, without being traumatized by the descriptions in the Haynes. SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, ball socket intact and cup intact - and a smear of nice new copper-grease.

I will look at the slave-cylinder, see if there is enough throw on the pistion, or if I have to change it. I will look at freeplay at the mastercylinder/pedal linkage.

Best regards

Jens Jakob
