Subject: [NVC] Good camping gadgets websites?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

For fans of electronic gadgets, there are sites like gizmodo.com and engadget.com where all the latest totally rad button-encrusted phones and game controllers and 'puters can be found.

But what about the inveterate camping gear-head? Where does he go to get his daily fix of what's new? Granted, regular camping gear doesn't see a lot of changes (unlike mountaineering gear or other cutting edge stuff), but still, a fellow never knows when some manufacturer might bring out something handy. Take the Cabela's cupboard, for example (I'm not affiliated, etc., www.cabelas.com, item Item:IH-516773): Just the ticket, I thought, to place right outside the sliding door. A couple of telescoping light stands and a crossbar of 3/4'' PVC pipe to hang this thing from and I have a handy place to stash that box of Kleenex, the star chart, binoculars, the Viewmaster (this week: Tahitian Cuties of the 1890's!) and other essentials. Point is, if I hadn't been poking around their site when I should have been working I might never have seen this item.

Are there sites where folks with nothing better to do blog about camping gadgets?
