Heh. My great uncle Bill (former owner of the local paper, who still writes a very Mark Twain-esque column <http://www.tehachapinews.com/home/ViewCategory/388> ) has lived in Tehachapi since the 50's. I was there last month and there's STILL nothing there but a cement plant and a prison!
