Subject: WTB adaptor to cooling system tester ...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi, I am mostly a lurker on the list and have learned alot over the last few years about my van, but for once I think I can add something! I have an old Stant pressure system tester and just last week made an adapter for my Vanagon by using an old pressure cap and a1/8 NPT hose barb fitting and some rubber hose.

I had been smelling antifreeze but could not see where it was leaking. I pumped up the tester a few times and rather quickly lost pressure. I then went under the van looking for leaks and tightened a few clamps and found a leak from on of the hoses going to one of the T fittings for the rear heater.

I ordered new T fittings from Van-Cafe in Santa Cruz (I live in Massachusetts). Ordered them on Thursday Pm and got them today (Monday)! Unbelievable, I am used to much longer shipping times from much closer vendors, Plus they sent cookiesin the package!

Hopefully, after new fittings and cutting back the hose, the system will hold pressure. Pumped to 15 lbs.
