Completely off topic, but a topic that speaks to me. ;o)

Porsche 917 motor. Started life in 1969 at 4494cc (85 x 66) and 580 horsepower @ 8400 rpm. Naturally aspirated. In 1972, they increased the bore and stroke to 90 x 70.4 for 5374cc and 660 hp @ 8300 rpm Last data Paul Frere gives is the 1972 917/10 Bergspyder at 4994cc and a pair of Eberspacher turbochargers. 950 hp @ 8000 rpm. 690 lb ft torque. In a 750kg racecar... I saw them race a few times back in the day. You cannot imagine what brutal cars they were. A thousand horsepower in a 1700 lb car. Un-effing-believable. Performance figures: 0-60 mph 2.1 sec., 0-100 mph, 3.9 sec., 0-200 mph, 13.4 sec.
