Droping (not removing, just lowering)a Subi or a Wasser in a vanagon take about 15 minutes, you need to remove cat and muffler, 10-20 minutes, remove the shield, 5 minute, now, it's open field, do your stuff and lift everything back up. Very easy.

On top, Subi T-belt are quite something, they have "noob proof" mark, align mark on belt with cam gear mark and crank gear mark and your done, to double check,turn the engine until all arrows point UP. More easy than that...

Even on Honda car's it's more dificult, anyway, you should NOT worry about a belt change, by the time you need one, you probably won't have your Westy anymore.

John from Vanaru is right, 3 hours is about right.
