Keep the old ones for emergency spares alongside your emergency tool kit that you carry in the van. Don't give in to the temptation to over-tighten the new ones. Check the pulleys to for 'true'-ness (roundness, lack of wobble) or any obvious defects, check the old belts for any signs of strange wear or damage. Turn any pulleys that will turn and listen for excessive noise in the bearings, check them for excessive side-to-side movement of the shaft. Write down the belt sizes/'part numbers' and which goes on what and keep those notes in the van along with a notation of the mileage at the time of the change.
