Subject:      headlight problem - intermittent - 87 westy

Greetings one and all,

Sometimes upon first starting the van the high beam indicator light glows
brightly but the headlights won't go on using the headlight switch.  A light
tap to the fuse block cover clears the high beam indicator light and all
headlight functions return to normal, other than the headlights are always
on when the ignition is on.  Any suggestions as to what might be the cause?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
