The problem could possibly be remedied (or at least greatly quieted) by
somehow using rubber mountings on the three fan-to-metal duct mount bolts,
or on the six metal duct-to-radiator mount bolts. I recently had mine off by
lowering the radiator (while still connected!), after removing the spare
tire/ holder. Note; I recommend removing the front bumper and dousing the 4
radiator mounting bracket bolts/ tinnerman nuts with penetrant before
attempting to remove the bolts from the mount brackets. A/C makes the job a
little tougher, trying to clear the lines, condenser, etc.
My fan is very loud and can be felt thru the floor when on high speed. I
recently rigged up a switch to manually force it into high speed operation,
as was recently discussed here.
HTH,
Mike B.
