Buy a new one from one of the vendors and then go to the hardware store and buy a roll
of quality medium weight aluminum foil tape and cover the outside of the plastic vent
cover. If you are careful, you can do a neat job and it will last forever. Mine has.
And you will be amazed at how many uses you can find for that foil tape.
