Hi Ellen,

Mrs Squirrel has always claimed to sew, but I have never seen her actually holding a threaded needle nor does she own a sewing machine. So her sewing appears to be mainly imaginary.

Them Coglan's white/red plaid vinyl tablecloths (available at fine purveyors of crappy camping gear everywhere) are smaller than the picnic tables in the campsites we've visited, otherwise stitching elastic all 'round the periphery of the tablecloth would let a fellow snap that tablecloth over the table like a shower cap. Some listees have proposed using plastic tarps as tablecloths, and those could be large enough to cover the table, but they lack the essential cheesy plaid-y cheeriness so essential to looking like complete dorks when camping -- something we try to achieve whenever possible. Rhinestone cat's eye sunglasses and lime pedal-pushers on Mrs Squirrel, stupid Hawaiian shirts, floppy straw hats and strap-on sandals for me. We need some of those inflatable pink flamingos to plant around the campsite to finish the deal.
