Volks,

I'M still in need of 4 speakers replacement for my syncro which is will have sonn some customfurnitures. I did receive somme suggestions from some listees but so far i wasn't able to get my hands on the suggestred model (out of stock or the model doesn't exist anymore).

So again I'm asking the list for help. What I need is at least (2) brand new 4" (not used), better than stock' with flat grill so in won't be a problem which the dash once the doors are closed. The one in the back could be bigger (5") and thicker but I would prefer the same as for the front.

It seems almost impossible ti find speakers grill with conservative looks. All the model seems to be made for kids with tuning cars!

JP, et all, here is the ultimate solution. You get the 4" speakers from Canadian Tire without grills, either the Pioneer or Sony. Under $50 a pair when on sale. Sony XS-W4021 Xplod with injected P.P. cones are the ones I got and they are great. Now, you get the OEM speakers from a late model Vanagon, '88 up I think, that are held in the door panel and rear with four screws, not the ones with the big screw ring in back. Take those speakers and cut off the speaker with a rotary tool cut off wheel and your left with a perfect OEM looking grill that can be screwed on with your new speakers. Works like a charm only problem is finding those late model Vanagon OEM speakers. I had a pile of them but they are all gone now. I will try to get my hands on more when I'm at West River Westys in July. John's Car Corner in Westminister, VT may have some in his large inventory of junked Vanagons. Otherwise Chris Turner should have a pile of the kicking around.

Cheers,
