Subject: Leaking auto tranny

I have an 85 auto tranny hooked to a Subie EJ 22 that is leaking very badly on hard climbs. Does not do it otherwise. At firt I thought is was the main seal on the engine or the oil seperator plate. Changed those and should have gone into the tranny but did not. On a hard climb(over passes in Vermont) where it really cranks hard, at the top it is leaking pretty bad. I have never messed with going into the seals of an auto tranny. Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to remove the torque converter and get at and change the converter oil seal. Any other ideas as to what may be leaking in there. It is definitly tranny fluid coming out where bell housing meets the tranny. Any thoughts or experiences are surely appreciated before I do it the slow learn as you go way. Merv.
