UL-listed SPT-1 and SPT-2 lamp cord is commonly available in 18 gauge and 16 gauge. You can find 14 gauge if you dig around a little bit. 18 gauge is the most common, though.

Non-UL-listed parallel cord is sold as speaker wire in everything from about 24 to 12 gauge.
