Re: "*I got a neighbor two houses up the street with an enormous cigarette boat trailered in front of his house. He likes to work on it. On occasion he fires up the engine, which loudly stutters then emits a blast of sound that causes immediate heart stoppage for me and everyonenearby. I've been looking for a warning siren or factory whistle he could blow before firing that thing up."

Not to take this oh so important thread farther off course but..... my first job in the automobile industry was for a local speed shop. The owner raced an alcohol fueled rail dragster and would not only fire it up to tune at the shop in downtown Anchorage during the business day, he was also known to do the same at home on a Sunday morning. Bet his neighbors loved him, though he claimed that they never complained even the cop down the block.
