No such animal. Only Reman/Rebuilt, even from VW or Bosch. The only new starters available from Bosch at the moment are SR15N - for Bug M/T to 79, Bus M/T to 75, Type 3 All.

I once took the original Bosch long number off of my Vanagon starter and searched to Bosch North American Price Data Fiche I have to see what what it sold new for. Good thing I was sitting down, 'cause it was almost six times the price of a Bosch Reman.

Go with a Bosch Remanufactured starter. I've never had a problem with those in say 30+ years or so. Perhaps I am lucky, 'cause nothing's perfect. Independently reman starters are another story though. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On 6/15/07, Rick Koller <rkoller@helix.nih.gov> wrote: > > Hi all, > I need to replace the leaking front main seal in my Syncro.
