I can't answer whether other Vanagons present with Gurgle Syndrome, all I can say is that I've never heard anything like it even after parking in a quiet forest campground after having climbed 5000 feet in hot weather. I've never noticed much in the way of noise from the engine compartamento even when playing with leveling blocks under the tires.
