In speaking with a VW rep last August re the current lineup, he stated that VW would not be importing TDI into Canada or the US for the 2007 model year because neither country has clean diesel available. he further stated that the new generation diesel engines required such a fuel and would not run properly nor be warranted if run on dirty diesel. Canada /Canadian refineries are gearing up to produce clean diesel. PetroCanada has just built a new refinery in Edmonton Alberta to do just that. Presumably VW will bring back the TDI ( I haven't checked) now that proper fuel is available. Still can't holiday south of the border with one though.
