The diesels haven't been DROPPED from the lineup, because they haven't yet been OFFERED in the new Jetta/Rabbit/Passat. Since all are new models, VW typically waits 1-2 years before widening powertrain options, sadly. I've read in numerous places (as well as have been told by a local dealer - for what that's worth) that 2008 is the year the TDI Jetta and Rabbits will be here at least.) New Beetle - yes, dropped.
