I've had my 88 Westy for about 10 years and use it as my daily driver.  I've
only gotten back into the camping routine within the past year or two.  When
we're camping and using the refrigerator on gas or shore power, my wife is
annoyed by the cooling fan noise that frequently runs at night.  I'd like to
make it quieter.


I pulled the whole Dometic unit out to check it when it was new to me, but I
don't remember the details of the fan.  I'm pretty sure it's a 12v model.
Has anyone replaced theirs with a quieter model from Radio Shack or other
places?  I'd like to have a new fan unit on hand before I dive into the
fridge removal again.


Recommendations?
