JUST FOR THE RECORD My inline gas 1.8L just got 26.3 MPG's on a trip. This time I was trying to take it easy, but I had a weekend of camp gear, and a scrap 300 lb. refrigerator in the back. Might even be 400 lb's. Two of us were barely able to lift it into the back.. On another note, I'm out of ideas to improve gas mileage, on this thing, other than a diesel. I suspect that 30 mpg's would be easy with a diesel..
