Subject: Vanagon Syndrome Capacitor fix
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Ok, I might be stupid here but I am having some troubles.

I know everyone has seen the online write up on how to fix Vanagon Syndrome by soldering a capacitor inside your AFM. I just don't recall the source and don't feel like searching for it right now.

My problem is this. In that article it says to get either a 15volt or a 25 volt 22 microfarad tantalum capacitor. I cannot find a source for anything meeting those specs - I can find a 16v 22 microfarad or a 22 microfarad of much higher voltage but nothing that is 15v 22 mf or 25v 22mf.

I've check Radio Shack and the guy working was NO HELP at all. So I went to their web site and still couldn't find anything.

Where can I find these? Can I substitute a ceramic tipped capacitor for the tantalum one? Any guidance is appreciated - this seems a simple fix but I can't find the correct capacitor.
