Yup, I painted the roof of our dark grey GL Pastel White before our long trip to Wyoming a few years ago.

Made a big difference then and still does. When I put my hand on the roof versus on the door its always much cooler. There's a reason that all the cars sold in the southwest in the sixties had white roofs.
