I don't mean granny gear.

I don't have any problems going from 2nd to 3rd gear. I just have troubles getting into 1st (and occassionally reverse) when hot. This problem existed when I first got the Van (2.1 waterboxer engine). I've adjusted the shift linkage once (which helped for a while.) The transmission has been out twice for upgrades (last time was last summer) so there aren't that many miles on it. The engine is (now) an SVX 3.3.
