> Honda and Nissan will be introducing their diesel Civics and Sentras in Canada for the 2009 model year. Honda claims their diesel running on the new low sulphur fuel will emit 20% less emissions than gas engines, and get mileage in the 60's. Stay tuned. In Canada the gov. also gives a 1000 dollar cash back for buying a qualified "green" car, like the Hybrids, the Toyota Yaris, and the Mercedes smartcar. > Courtney

Right, and here in the United States, we give tax breaks to people who buy HumVees..We measure emissions without taking into consideration the *amount* of fuel being burned..We consider a clean 7 liter V-8 as just as green as a 50cc scooter..Nevermind that one may get 100mpg and the other, burning 10 times the fuel, gives the owner a tax refund because it is a "truck" Brother! Our guv here in the US has stalled and stalled.. Don Hanson
