It can also be opened with any key or other flat- bladed object that will fit in the slot, seemingly confirming what Mike has heard about replacement caps that use the ignition key not being locked at all. As a practical matter, I carry only the ignition key, and thus use it to open the gas cap, leaving it in the cap while filling the tank, thus making it impossible to drive off without the gas cap and the key. |
