I ordered a set of the Front Cab step pads from GoWesty. And needed to know right away if anyone else had purchased these.

The guy who is helping me with my 84 Westy replaced the metal where the old pads connected, with the lock in rubber knobs, and he needs to know if my replacement pads are the same, or modified "glue on" without the tabs/knobs.

I haven't received my replacements yet, and he just informed me that he really needs to know tonight!

Can anyone tell me?

I have no first hand experience with the step pads from Go Westy but since this topic has come up here's another step pad story. I recently ordered and received eight pairs of these step pad rubbers from the Bus Depot which were in Just Kampers bags and they do not fit properly. They do have the locating securing knobs and that's where the problem is with them. The front set of knobs and rear set of knobs are 1/4" too close to each other and therefore produce a bulge in the rubber step when all the knobs are in the locating holes on the metal step. I tried several of them in several vans here at my shop and all were incorrect. I returned them to the Bus Depot and I then thought it would be best to order them directly from VW. So, I do that, and no problem until yesterday when I was informed that the LH ones are Obsolete and none in any warehouses world wide. The RH ones are on their way to me from somewhere at $18.47 CND retail each. So, now what about the LH ones ? Are the ones Go Westy, CIP, and other vendors selling, having the knobs and are the knobs in the correct location ?
