Subject: 1980 Vanagon air-cooled for sale in Vancouver
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Hi everybody, I am writing here to get some advice. I have a 1980 air-cooled vanagon which is in running condition, the interior needs TLC, and there are parts that are quite rosty. the last row of the formerly seven seateris missing, too. I bought it for 500, spent 250 Dollars fixing stuff and then another 200 for getting it through air-care. I got only a conditional pass, as the HC was a bit too high while idle, everything else was within allowed range. I am not sure about the prize with which I could sell it. The mechanic who did the tuning said that the engine is in good condition, for proper tuning it would need a new Oxygen sensor. I understand without seeing it, it is hard to say anything, anyway, how much are part vanagons, that you guys buy? Quite honestly, I just want to get rid of the van and not loose much money, if possible. I had never problems while driving it through the winter. I bought it when I was fixing my other van. I would greatly appreciate, if you could give me some advice. Thanks a lot Thomas
