Smartly-done, Stephen! Looks like a home handyman project for this Fall!
What did you use to cut through the side to enlarge the opening for the
new sliding door? My jig saw work is not real clean.

In the meantime, I've hung the upper portion of one of these in the
closet to stash stuff into.
