The mere thought of paying $575 for a $50 part would have me thinking of alternate routes.

There was a thread a long time ago (years ago) where people were using Rabbit radiator fans. They are much cheaper.

My buddy with a Buick Grand National is using a dual electric fan setup from a Chrysler Intrepid. He bought it new for less than $75 (For 2 electric fans). Cools much better than the factory setup.

Point is, if you don't mind doing some research and minor fabrication you can find another solution besides paying $500 too much for a part you need. Far as I'm concerned that is ridiculous.

If you're a "VW purist" or don't want to be bothered with extra work, buy the $575 fan.

Hello all. I need a radiator fan and motor assembly. The bearings in mine are bad. I see it on bus depot, but its like $575 +shipping. I dont wanna pay. So what are my options? Anyone have one of these laying around? Maybe you have a parts van? My van is a 90GL, with factory AC. Part number for the fan assembly is 251959455M (not the 251959455G which is only $110!!!)

Anyone has anything for me, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jeff 90 GL
