I like the idea. Looks good.

I've had that style cup holder in the same spot on my bus, but without the
fancy mount you've made. As a result they are not optimal but work OK-ish as
long as the drink is well-capped.

FWIW I just got two of the Griotsgarage.com heavy duty super dooper German
cup holder that sell for $16 a piece. I think they are manufactured by a German
company, possibly named Fischer.

Now I mounted them in my VW Fox because that's my daily driver. And after
using my lap as a cup holder in that car for four years I finally got smart--
read "Youtch!" --and bought some cup holders.

I'm defiantley getting at least two more for my Vanagon. If only to admire
them. They are solid and well engineered, and open and close with exacting
results.

I figure I'll mount them in the aisle on the pedistal for the passenger seat.
The asile is not an ideal location as they risk being kicked if open when
disembarking.

BUT I have to endorse those cup holders. They are solid and hold a big cup.
They say up to a 1L bottle. I haven't tried that.

I see GoWesty has one that looks similar for about $12. Anyone know if they
are the same?
