On Hwy395 just a few miles south to Lee Vining there is a place
called June Lake. It's a small town on a loop of road around a
group of lakes. The road is named Hwy 158 and is commonly called
June Loop. The largest lake among June Lakes is called Grant Lake.
Google map "June Lake" you will find it on the map.
There is a camp site at Grant Lake. There is a harbor with rental
boates and a small shop that rents fishing gears and the rental
boats is also the administrator of the camp site. The camp site
is right near the lake with some trees and a nice bathroom with
paid showers.
At this time of ther year there will be lots of spaces available.
You may see some RVs there. It's a very nice camp ground. It's owned
by the government and it's a very nice one. Because it is near the
lake it should be cooler there. There are camp sites on all lakes
there. But the one on Grant Lake is the best one. Those lakes are
very best fishing lakes. You can have dinner in the town June Lake
if you do not have time to cook at the camp ground.
