Just took another look at this expanded metal lath I purchased, and while it doesn't specifically say, it appears to be galvanized. It does say on the package it can be used for grills, but they probably weren't thinking about interior use. If there's any chance of dangerous, toxic fumes, I think I will just as soon not use it. I do have a small stainless steel one I picked up at a camping supply shop. It tends to slide around on the surface and has a lip so that I can't close the stove top without removing it, which is why I was looking for an alternative. Guess I will need to search the archives for a better solution. Thanks for the tip! Troy |
